Who are we?
Women's Legal Service is a specialist community legal centre run by and for women.Our service provides free legal information, advice and referrals throughout Queensland.
We can explain the law and what happens in court on most legal matters and can refer you to other helpful organisations or private solicitors.
We do not undertake court representation however we will provide you with advice about your legal rights and information about any legal avenues that may be open to you.

How do I get Advice?
An information line is available and is usually open from 9.30am ‑ 1.00pm weekdays. This line is very busy and we are aware that it can be difficult to get through but please keep trying.
Daytime interviews
Daytime interviews with a solicitor are available however an appointment is necessary. Please note that appointments are usually booked three - four weeks in advance. Unfortunately, no solicitors are available during the day if you drop in without an appointment.For women outside Brisbane and women who are unable to come to our premises, telephone day appointments can be made. Limited video conferencing appointments are also available for women in South West Queensland. Please contact the day staff for further information.
Advice sessions
Legal advice sessions are held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00pm 8.00pm excluding public holidays. You can telephone or drop in at these times for legal advice.All advice is individual and confidential, and no appointment is required. Women are requested to attend or contact the service before 7.00pm. Due to the demand, interviews can be limited to 20 minutes

Brisbane
City Council buses Via lpswich Road
Alight at stop number 17A from the city. You
will be opposite the Service. If travelling towards
the city alight at stop 17A. A short walk back
to the Service is required.
Brisbane
City Council buses via Annerley Road
Alight at stop number 21A. This stop is at the opposite
end of Ponsonby Street. Short easy walk to the
Service.
The
closest railway station is Fairfield station.
A 10 - 15 minute walk is required up a
hill to reach the service.
